I was hesitant at first to book the flight but I did it and do NOT regret that weekend one bit! I definitely got out of my comfort zone and walked in like I knew everyone when I didn’t know a soul… I gained new friends, sisters in the industry, and learned more about the western industry! The women I was surrounded by this whole entire weekend truly made me realize what my passion is in the photography industry. I loved meeting these group of talented photographers . This retreat is designed for women photographers who want to capture the beauty of the western industry, with female models!

The Woman of the West Retreat was truly an incredible experience and one that will be hard to top. At the time, I hadn’t photographed much that fell into western photography and/or lifestyle but it’s always been something I’ve wanted to dive deeper into, as the western way of life is near and dear to my heart. So when Justine posted about this retreat, I knew I needed to snag a spot to go! Lord, am I thankful I did because it ignited my creative soul and opened my eyes to just how much I love the western lifestyle/industry. I walked away not only with knowledge and experience but a full heart as well. I met some incredible photographers from all different areas-all so incredibly fun and friendly, which made the weekend even more enjoyable. Justine was super sweet, welcoming to all, and open to sharing knowledge and answering questions! You could really tell she poured her heart into this weekend, making sure we had the best experience and it’s easy to say she succeeded in that. “The West of East Workshop was one of my favorite trips from this past year. I was really just looking to learn a few new things in photography but what I came out with was far more than I anticipated. I left the retreat with a reignited passion for the western industry/western lifestyle, new friendships, and so much knowledge. This opportunity opened a door for me to really just submerge myself in the art of photography and forget about the world for a couple of days.
